As you may have noticed, I have been playing with themes to How to Record Podcasts. In the last year, my blogging has gone way down to video podcast production. I have been looking for new ways to get my content out, and it’s been really consuming things.
I want to get back on this horse for many reasons. The first is the fact that HTRP is mostly blog-based. I don’t have a weekly podcast with HTRP because I didn’t want to get consumed by it. I have other podcasts, and I am pretty busy with those.
I have to admit, writing is not a passion of mine. Nonetheless, it is a necessity. If I’m not writing blog posts, I would have to be at a job writing reports, plans, and other junk that I would consider boring and un-fulfilling. I remember writing presentations that I would deliver to staff that would never read. I expect some of the stuff I put on the Interwebs to be read by some…
There is also a lot happening with podcasting. With Google stepping up the game, Spotify delivering shows, and some high-end content out there, I want to explore and report what is going on.
I also want to make sure Video podcasting gets it’s fair shake. So many podcast websites that focus on audio only shows. While YouTube is technically not a podcast in the terminology – sense, you have to accept it as a podcast. Just like if someone was to put out weekly PDF files, hence they would be podcasting.
Livestreaming and Facebook Live are also ways of content creation. Just because they’re not in RSS feeds, does that not make it a Podcast?
It’s time we decentralize the name and get into what really matters – telling stories. We all have stories to tell, and I want to make sure nobody feels left out in podcasting. After all, do you leave food groups out of a buffet? If you’re at a Chinese buffet, do you scoff at the hamburgers and Pizza?
I hate to burst your bubble, but Chinese buffets are American-created. Just like the fortune cookie.
HTRP has always been a “Outside the box thinking” website. I won’t tell you about how you should get the ATR2100 microphone because other podcasters use it and it’s pretty cheap. I’ll compare to other podcast mics, but the focus with HTRP will be ways to tell your stories easier.
I will also be looking for people who also want to write stories based on podcasting, that align with HTRP. I hope this will be your moment of Zen when you are starting, feel the burnout, or just want to change up your show.
Tell stories, charged with emotion. That is my goal. I hope to convey that to you.
Now I want Chinese buffet…
